Pet doesn't mean only dogs...!

Latest figures of British Insurers(ABI) association shows claims of Pet insurance has spiked YoY by 10% at a record of £2 million per day on average to owners.

Pet ownership has increased in the recent times with number of households holding pet insurance policies stands at 3.7 million still leaving 84% of cats and 65% of dogs uninsured ABI warns.
This means 12.4 million pet owners are liable to bear vet bills when their pets fallen ill while £757 is the average claim of pet insurance..

Bills could steeply rise quickly, ABI citing inflammatory bowel disease ofa cat requires £9,600 in costs for treatment and a dog treatment suffering from seizures diseases requires  £30,000.

ABI policy adviser Joseph Ahern says: Owning a pet can be rewarding, but also very expensive if they fall ill. None of us want to imagine anything bad happening to our pets, but leaving them uninsured can lead to expensive bills and unnecessary stress".
“It’s good to see the number of pets being insured growing, and the amount being paid out by insurers, but the fact that millions of pets still aren’t covered means that owners are at risk of having to fork out thousands to cover the costs of vet treatment because there’s no NHS for animals".

“No matter what type of pet you have – there should be a policy that’s right for you. The market is very competitive, so be sure to shop around or speak to a broker.”
